The parks are open until 10pm so very doable in a day. He also gave us a few useful hints including telling us the entry receipt would give us free entry into a close by State Park called Huntington Beach State Park if went the same day. I have to say the person on the gate was so polite and so helpful a very pleasant surprise as you rarely get that in south Florida where we live. We were looking forward to visiting this park. Overall a great experience and we would definitely visit again. Not sure if they’re there everyday or only certain times. Some horse owners were there and you could ride the horses on the beach, for a few we assume, we didn’t ride them. There are 2 of them at Myrtle but one is only a few minutes from the park. If you can, visit the Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar. The Myrtle airport is literally right next to the park so there are the planes coming and going but it’s not that bad and much of the time we didn’t even notice them. It’s away from all the hustle and bustle of the main strip but it’s only a short drive if you want to visit all that. While there were many visitors and campers it didn’t feel crowded at all. We liked how there is plenty of tree coverage but a short walk and you’re on the beach. My wife and I camped in site 001 for president’s day weekend. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I hope you all reading this review will too. I tell everyone I know who goes to Myrtle for the 1st time to visit this place, and they come back very happy. Friendly staff who know what they're doing and how to handle the crowds. The place overall is very well run and everything is very well maintained. The lines go smooth but there is expected average wait times. Then later in the evening or night you've done them and don't mind the lines to ride again. One suggestion.get there when it first opens to be the crowds and hit as many rides as you can before lines get long. Ticket and food prices are not too expensive either. I took my young sons during this visit to get them hooked on this place and it was a success. The place is a must for beach vacation fun memories. ![]() I used to go here every time I came to Myrtle, which was often, when in my teens, 20s. The Hurricane is another iconic must ride. The swamp fox coaster is awesome! An old school wood coaster that is a blast. You can spend an entire evening there which we did. Rides, games, and typical carnival/fair type food. There are rides for people of all ages.elementary school aged and up. Iconic landmark must visit place while in Myrtle Beach! You will not be disappointed. The plus is that all of the places, even if corporate, are relatively high quality places and small chain retail and restaurants. The only negative is that you won't find any mom and pop shops that I can see. Occasionally, there is live music or other some such entertainment. There's ice cream shops, candy shops and an arcade. There are many restaurants where you can get a good meal or drink and there's somewhat limited shopping, mostly for niche vacation items and tchotchkes. ![]() There's some walking you can do, from the waterway to the paths between stores and parking lots, which are plentiful. Youngins can play on the playground(s) or play free games like giant-sized Jenga or giant-sized Chess, parents can play too or join in a group class like Yoga and there's seating everywhere for those who want to watch their kids or have a drink. This is a nice family area, with activities for every age. It is the younger sibling of the nearby Broadway at the Beach outdoor mall set up in the same way. It's an outdoor mall set up for the scheme of shop+eat+play.
